There is an old children’s song we all grew up singing that begins, “I was glad when they said unto me, let us go into the House of the Lord.” This song comes straight from Psalm 122:1. There, the Psalmist was speaking of the joy and blessings that ancient Israel alone possessed, of going up to the Temple of the One true and living God, to offer praise and worship for His abundant provision. In those days, the Priests of Israel constantly offered animal sacrifices, both daily and during the Hebrew Festivals, to provide atonement for the people’s sins. But the blood of those animals never provided His people with a final, once and for all, payment for sin.
With the coming of Jesus, we no longer need to offer sacrifices and offerings for sin, because Our great High Priest, the Lord Jesus Christ, offered Himself once as a perfect sacrifice and has provided full and final atonement for all His people. Indeed, he has set us free from sin, and we now rejoice in His salvation, both individually and as a congregation of believers.
Each Sunday, we do just that at Airport Baptist Church, always being glad when the hour rolls around for us, and we can enter the Lord’s house to worship. Currently, we are meeting at 11:00 AM, but we plan to resume Sunday School as well as Wednesday night Prayer and Bible Study in the near future. We are serious about trying to reach our community with the gospel, because it is the power of God unto salvation. The music is designed for worship and the messages are intended to challenge us in our daily walk.
If you are looking for a special place to worship, where the people are friendly and Spirit of God is at work, come join us at Airport Baptist Church, and let the Lord and our people be a blessing to you.
For God’s glory and His Alone,
Pastor Terry.
