Washington Irving wrote “The love of a mother is never exhausted.  It never changes-it never tires-it endures through all, in good repute, in bad repute, in the face of the world’s condemnation, a mother’s love still lives on.”

God bless all mothers on this day we set aside to celebrate motherhood.  Mother is the sweetest word one can utter.  I spent the last 15 years of my mom’s life on Earth being closer to her than ever.  Those are precious memories.  We prayed together, talked Bible together, shopped for groceries, went to her doctor appointments, visited together when she was in the extended care facility and, finally, my sister and I watched her take her last breath.  A bittersweet moment.

Mom was gone from our realm of life.  She was with Jesus.  I would not see her again until my time came to meet Jesus, but now she was cured of all pain and aches.  She would never need medicine and doctors again.  I have my Earthly memories of mom and they make me smile.

Someday, when Jesus comes to get us, or when I am called home, my mom will be waiting, arms open, with a momma hug to top them all.  Think of your mom today, and if she’s still with you, hug her extra.

God bless all!
