Greetings ABC church family! I just wanted to let you know I will not be there this Sunday. Rev. Scott Winters will be preaching. I will surely miss you! I will be praying for you and Scott as he leads in worship!! I will be back Sunday, May 29th.
Did you know that we are all farmers? Let me show you. Galatians 6:7 says
“Do not be deceived, God is not mocked; for whatever a man sows, that he will also reap.”
There is a moral law at work here that is as true as the law of gravity. You reap what you sow. There it is! We are all farmers. Everyday we are sowing something. The life that we live, the words that we speak, the attitudes that we have have a real impact in our lives and in the lives of others. We can either sow to the “flesh” and reap “corruption” or we can sow to the Holy Spirit and reap “eternal life” (Gal. 6:8). The choice is yours. One produces death. The other produces life.
If we speak harsh words, we will reap relational conflict. If we are unkind, we will be treated unkindly. If we are dishonest, no one will trust us. If we are unfriendly we will be friendless. If we yield to unholy passions, we will become enslaved to them. You reap what you sow!
But if you speak graciously, you will restore relationships. If you are kind, people will be drawn to you. If you are honest, those near you will confide in you. If you are friendly, you will receive the greatest blessing of all, countless friends who love and care about you. If you cultivate purity of heart, you will produce a godly life. You reap what you sow.
What we are really talking about is expressing Christ-likeness everyday, everywhere. This can be challenging and at times discouraging. We may wonder if living this way is worth it. Galatians 6:9 answers with a resounding yes! “…And let us not grow weary while doing good, for in due season we shall reap if we do not lose heart…”
For His sake,
Tim
